it's not just about you!

This is my team (plus John who took the pic), who I spent appproximately 39 days with ! I must say I miss them! Never before had I spent so much time consequtively with the same group of people, and never before had I felt so much a part of a team than I did during that time! It was great!! :)

Don't get me wrong....there were some pretty tough times, but it was awesome to know that I was part of something so much bigger than myself. We were all soooo different but yet one team! We had breakfast together, lunch together, dinner together, mettings together, worked together, laughed together, cried together, prayed together. It seems like we did everything together but shower...oh wait..never mind, some of us did that too lol (not naked don't worry)! :)

It was never just about one of us! We were one! We couldn't just think about our needs, or what we wanted, because the thoughts and feelings of nine other people mattered just as much!

I hope to continue in that mindset and to not make my life about me. WE are the body of Christ! God calls us to be united, God calls us to consider others better than ourselves, to help out those in need, to weep with those who weep and laugh with those who laugh! We are to live and act as a team! Enough with all this individualistic crap!

We are all family!!

A dog.....a very sad dog!

The most impactful aspect of my trip was the time I spent in La Chureca. It was the closest thing I have ever seen to hell. There was dirt, trash, lots and lots of trash, heat, fire, .....and people as valuable as you and I are, living in conditions I don't think anyone should have to live in! I will post more pictures and info on the actual place latter, but for now....here's a dog!

This is a dog from La Chureca. There is a lot of animals walking around there. cows, voltures, dogs, horses and PEOPLE, all digging through the dumb to find something of use.

I am not supper compassionate for animals, but it did make make sad to see bony cows (they should be fat) and dogs should have hair right? And what should human beings have?

This is the conditin of a dog, you can imagine the condition of the children!

No, they don't look like that...they're beautiful...so very very beatiful...but they're lacking so much!!!

God's all knowing...we know very little.

I just spent five weeks in Nicaragua, and I would like to write so much about it, but if I could sum up what I learned it would be that

"If God was small enough for me to understand, He wouldn't be big enough for me to worship."

Greetings!!!

So...I didn't think I would do this...but I did!! I now have a blog!

I was hesistant in getting one because I feel like it's a diary that everyone reads......but why not share a bit of my life, thoughts, struggles, joys, and sorrows with those who are interested!

I don't promise that to have correct grammar, make sense, do it often, or be politically correct, but I promise to be real.0

Hope you enjoy!!! :)
