I just read these verses in Psalm 101:
"Whoever secretly slanders his neigbor, him I will DESTROY...he who tells lies shall NOT continue in my presence."
My response: "Ouch, that was harsh!"
This wonderful, kind all loving, gracious forgiving, compassionate God will destroy me If I say somethin that's not nice? If I throw at a few lies here and there for whatever reason I can not continue in his prescence?
I was going to write more, but my lovely reader (probably 3 people..lol) what do you make of this? Where does this fit into your theology? Tell me!!
Oh wait...here's another one :)
Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, BUT LOVE COVERS ALL SINS.
Proverbs 17:9 He who COVERS A TRANSGRESSION seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends.
Are we suppose to hide sin??

My family!...this is long

I spent the weekend with my wonderful family (minus my brother ) in Psalm Springs! I don't remember the last fun I had fun so much fun with them...well...we have a lot of fun....but this was extra great! :)
The weekend consisted of swimming, volleyball, "phase ten", "mancala" ,walking, climbing some rocks, an awesome firework show, eating, eating, and more eating, shopiing, talking, laughing, bikeriding, some tv, and of coarse sleeping!
Things I saw, thought, about, or was reminded of.
1. I love my sister so much! Yes, I obviously knew that already but somewhere in between her being married, working so much, and trying to raise too kids, we don't spend a whole lot of quality time together, or it's sometimes hard for me to find things that we have in common. (AKA, I'm not a mom, wife, Insurace agent and so on) But this weekend our only buisness was having fun and we did..she's great, she's fun, she's wise, and in some ways I am a lot like her....and I look a lot like her...so it's fun just watching her! :)
2. My newphews really know me. We had tons of fun together, we swam, I threw them of my shoulders into the water, we did a chicken fight, played water voleyball and much more!
Sunday night when Alex and I were playing and I was getting really tired of doing this one game with him (which he was really enjoying) so I said "one more, and that's it." He wasn't too thrilled about the idea, and so he approaches me very sweetly and says "What If I give you a hug?" I laughed and of coarse took the hug and kept on playing with him.
I guess everybody knows I love hugs!
3. Marriage is a beautiful gift!
Out of the five adults that were present, I was the only unmarried one (which I'm perfectly okay with right now). So I observed a lot of the interactions that took place between my mom and dad, and sister and Louie.
My mom and I went bikeriding, even though my dad had been dieing to go with her. My mom mentioned that I should invite my sister to ride with me after, and I told her if she said yes, Louis would say something like "No..I wanna ride with my wife.) and sure enought that's what happened, but my sister was nice and went with him and then with me (but him first of coarse).
Wee all played phase ten a lot, andobviosly the games is about winning. You have to get rid of all your cards, and so it helps when you use a card to skip the person next to you or avoid giving the person next to you the card you know will make them win (if you happen to win. We had to do some seat rearangin..because my dad was no winning. He was sitting next to to my mom and would give her a card that would hurt her win, but make him win. I sat in between them....and lol..my dad had no problem winning and me loosin (well..I must admit he helped me out one or twice...but not like he would have helped my mom)
If you know my dad...you should know he is madly in love with my mom! I would definately believe that after more than thirty he doen't love her less but probably a lot more! Of coarse..my moms crazy about him too, but I am a girl and so I will focus on him.
The above illustrates he rather her win than him. He's happy if she's happy, he sad if she's sad and so on. He's not happy until she get home from work...and if she's a little late he's anxiously calling an looking out the door to see if he sees her. He compliments her CONSTANTLY, he pretty much likes doing nothing without her, and is the happiest when she's around. He is her biggest fan!
I see that and I think "Wow..how lucky is she to have someone who loves her sooooo incredibly much?!" I think about being married one day, and I honestly doubt that I will have someone who is as crazy about me as he is about her. And of coarse...I am not my parents...and I wouldn't want to have the exact marriage they have, but I do believe that what they have is special and rare, and a HUGE gift.
So many people have sucky marriages and that makes me really sad, becasue it could be something so great. As I was jokingly complaing to my mom during the bikeride that I was the only unpartnered one, and she had no sympathy for me cuz she said I always partenered up with someone and I sais "Yes, but at the end of the day when all is said and done, my dad really just wants to be with you and Louie want to be with Aracely."
And as I though about marriage...that's what it is...A PARTNER OF LIFE. You have a friend who you can do anything and everything with. You always have a partner for rollercoaster, for swims, for walks, for sad time for good times, for mornings and for nights! You get to pick ONE person to become a part of evey part of your life. Someone to share everything with!!
What a responsibility!! It's one of the most important choices we will ever have to make! I hope that you (anyone who is reading this0 and I will be very careful and wise in that choice. That we wouldn't do anything out of pressure, or emotion, or spontanaity...but would pray and pray and pray that we would make the right choice. It's a choice that forever alters your life!
In the midst of me fraking out for such a hard choice, I also think that it has to be a God thing. What are the odds that two different people will love, respect, value each other and want to spend the rest of their lives togetherr? I pray that God will contine to prepare the man he wants for me, and make the the kind of wife that man deserves ( I feel liike i have a long way to go!)
The point is..lol...my mom and sister are very lucky to have what they have and I am blessed to have them :)

"All by myself...I don't wanna be"
I am a big fan of people, and I think I'm known for being a people person (though I'm shy at first). I think there's something really great about not going through life alone! I firmly believe that it's not so much where you are but who your with, and that victories are so much more sweeter when there's somone to share them with.
Ever since I came back from Nicaragua I like being alone a lot less. It was so weird to go to bed alone, and wake up alone and to have a meal alone. I miss my team.....but have valued my AMAZING friends here as well. I've loved every phone call I've gotten and every time we've been together! life would be so much less without my family and friends!!
I know all of us are different and some people really enjoy being alone, which is cool, but personally I'm not a big fun! So...thank you for anyone who have ever spent time with me!! :):)
I've also discovered how much I love being woken up with a good morning phonecall (from someone I love) rather that an alarm or just me alone. It's weird but I get up and start my day a lot happier!! I love the people I love...they light up my life!!
