What do YOU think?

I just read these verses in Psalm 101:

"Whoever secretly slanders his neigbor, him I will DESTROY...he who tells lies shall NOT continue in my presence."

My response: "Ouch, that was harsh!"
This wonderful, kind all loving, gracious forgiving, compassionate God will destroy me If I say somethin that's not nice? If I throw at a few lies here and there for whatever reason I can not continue in his prescence?

I was going to write more, but my lovely reader (probably 3 people..lol) what do you make of this? Where does this fit into your theology? Tell me!!

Oh wait...here's another one :)

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, BUT LOVE COVERS ALL SINS.
Proverbs 17:9 He who COVERS A TRANSGRESSION seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends.

Are we suppose to hide sin??

Hhhmmmmm.....I don't know if we're supposed to hide sin, but I do know that there are times when we expose eachother's sin with no real goal in mind (other than exposing people).

So I say: Love people as if there was no sin in them, but recognize it because you love them so much.

hmm, i think when you consider the fact that it was written in the old testament, "covering" your sin makes sense. back in those days, they had to do the whole sacrifice an animal to cover their sins process. but since we're living in the here and now, we have Jesus. His blood already covered our sins for us, so we don't have to. key phrase: LOVE covers all sins. God is love. Therefore, God covers all sins. =]
